Octet

Experience the haunting beauty of the human voice in Octet, a groundbreaking “chamber choir musical” that explores our complex addiction to the digital world. Eight strangers gather in a basement for a support group meeting, sharing their struggles with internet obsession and the loss of connection through lush, intricate a cappella harmonies.

This production addresses vital issues concerning mental health, the polarization of social media, and the search for spiritual meaning in a hyper-connected age. By stripping away instruments and focusing on raw vocal performance, Octet raises awareness of the noise that distracts us from our shared humanity. This innovative work encourages a necessary dialogue about how we reclaim our attention and empathy from the screens that dominate our lives. It is a transcendent and deeply entertaining musical event that challenges us to truly see one another again.

This production generously underwritten by Bridget Paff and Sam & Mary Austin.
